First Impressions
The Eglu Cube is a premium plastic coop designed for up to 6 hens. Straight out of the box we were impressed by the build quality: the panels are thick, UV‑stabilised plastic that promises decades of service. Assembly took us about two hours with one person (Omlet suggests 1.5 hours).
One standout feature is the integrated run that attaches securely with Omlet’s signature clips. The rounded corners and smooth surfaces make cleaning a breeze compared with traditional wooden coops.
Our Testing Experience
- Durability: After six months in rain, snow and summer sun, the Cube shows no signs of wear. Plastic panels haven’t faded and the hardware remains rust‑free.
- Predator protection: The heavy‑duty welded wire run kept foxes and raccoons out. We added our own apron of hardware cloth for peace of mind.
- Ease of cleaning: Droppings trays slide out easily and the plastic surfaces hose down in minutes.
- Ventilation: Adjustable vents keep the coop cool in summer and reduce condensation in winter.
Verdict: If your budget allows, the Eglu Cube is an excellent long‑term investment that simplifies chicken keeping. Check price and availability.

Our Score
We rated the Eglu Cube 4.5 out of 5. It lost a half point due to price, but excelled in every other category. Few coops offer the same combination of durability, safety and convenience.
